We all know the importance of consistency in creating or achieving the results that we want. I had an interesting thought today that, also of important consideration, is the frequency with which we are consistent. Although consistency is important, the frequency with which we complete that consistent action will determine how quickly we reach the results that we are determined to achieve.
For example, let's say someone wants to find a better or different job for their career. This person
decides to search for a new job on a consistent basis with a frequency of once per month. Now, one would expect that although this person's job search is consistent, there frequency would not produce results as quickly as someone who was consistently searching for a new job on a weekly or daily basis.
Another example would be if someone wanted to train for a marathon and consistently trained with a frequency of once per week. This person would probably reach their goal more slowly than someone who had a training plan and was consistently training 5-6 times per week.
So when we are looking to achieve goals in our life we need to become aware of the consistent actions that we are taking to achieve those goals AND we also need to become aware of the frequency with which we are taking those steps.
Consistency and frequency go hand-in-hand in determining how quickly we will achieve the goals that we have set for ourselves and our businesses.
As always, Strive To Optimize!
